FAFSA Tips and Financial Aid Advice
The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has put together an excellent guide entitled FAFSA Tips and Common Mistakes To Avoid, which they've allowed us to reprint here. Check out the guide by clicking here, and if you'd like more great information, head over to NASFAA's Parent and Student Financial Aid Resource Center.

The National Center for College Costs
Murray & Associates and The National Center for College Costs provide programs and services that help students and parents prepare for the postsecondary process. Typically provided on a school or community basis, the programs range from early intervention activities that break down the barriers students face when it comes to thinking about college, to workshops that show students how to actually move through the college admission, application and transition processes successfully. The activities are designed to complement the work traditionally done by guidance counselors and other stakeholders working with students in the education pipeline.

Their college preparatory programming workshops include:

* Connecting the Classroom and the Workplace
* Mock Admissions Committee Case Studies
* Finding the Right Fit (College Selection Workshops)
* Executing an Effective Essay (Workshops on Writing Admissions, Scholarship and Employment Essays)
* College Visit Bus Trips
* College Survival 101

Career Vision
According to research, when students have a direction for their life and understand the purpose of their education, they perform better academically. Career Vision helps individuals find direction, make better college and career decisions, and achieve satisfaction. The Career Vision approach includes a personal assessment of aptitudes, personality, achievement, interests, and values. Individuals who know their profile can use it to identify courses, college majors, and careers.

Project on Student Debt
The Project on Student Debt is a Web project created by the Institute for College Access and Success, a nonprofit working to inform students, parents, schools and policymakers about trends and issues throughout the world of financial aid. It's well worth bookmarking and visiting often; their list of the Top Ten Student Loan Tips for Recent Graduates is a great place to start.
